These scholarships will cover the full tuition fees for studies at Uppsala University. It is for degree programs that will start on 28 August 2023 and are offered during the current admission round. The Anders Wall scholarship is among the most generous scholarships to a student at SSE Riga and is given to the students who show great entrepreneurial skills, including high level of academic achievements in terms of good study results.
Every year, one student from SSE Riga is awarded the Anders Wall scholarship – the chosen talent has to display entrepreneurial passion. The scholarship targets at encouraging young ambitious and zealous people to develop their entrepreneurship skills. In 2021, the Anders Wall scholarship of SEK 125,000 was awarded to SSE Riga student Nikita Stepanovs. The application for Anders Wall scholarship 2023 is now ongoing, also this year’s Scholarship has been increased to SEK 150 000 (EUR 15 000).
Note: You can only be awarded an Anders Wall Scholarship for a degree program at Uppsala University chosen as first priority (the program which you have ranked the highest of the programs you can choose at University Admissions).
When applying for scholarships at Uppsala University, there is no application fee. There is, however, an application fee when applying for study programs. During the scholarship application period, you must submit an online application form to be considered for one of the scholarships.

Eligibility/Qualification criteria:
To be eligible or to qualify for this scholarship, you must:
- be a citizen of Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Tunisia and Uganda.
- demonstrate academic talent and show interest in being in an educational environment.
- have applied for the Bachelor’s or Master’s program before the University Admissions deadline.
- meet the entry requirements for the program you applied to. The application fee and your complete supporting documents must be received by University Admissions before the deadline.

- A well written statement of purpose that is not more than 350 words
- Bachelor’s diploma/Degree certificate (or evidence of expected graduation, if you are in your final year of Bachelor’s studies)
- Curriculum Vitae
- Degree project abstract (according to the program you want to apply for)
- Letter of recommendation
- Official transcripts
- Passport
- Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, GRE, etc)
For Bachelor’s:
- Record of completed upper secondary (high school) education
- Identification document (Passport)
- English proficiency proof (TOEFL or IELTS)

The King Carl Gustaf Scholarship – Uppsala University Annual scholarships
The King Carl Gustaf Scholarship is aimed at students who live in unsafe and dangerous conditions in areas affected by conflict or natural disasters. The scholarships will cover the full cost of tuition fees for studies at Uppsala University.
It is for Master’s programs that start on 28 August 2023 and are offered during the current admission round. The scholarships do not cover living expenses.

Eligibility criteria:
- You must be a citizen of one of the following countries: Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Iraq, Mali, Mexico, Nigeria, Somalia, Syria or Yemen.
- You must show why you are particularly vulnerable and therefore in need of the educational environment at Uppsala University, as well as that you have the academic talent required.
- You can only be awarded a King Carl Gustaf scholarship for a Master’s program at Uppsala University chosen as first priority (the program which you have ranked the highest of the four programs you can choose at University Admissions).
- You must have applied for the Master’s program before the University Admissions deadline.
- You must meet the entry requirements for the program you applied to. The application fee and your complete supporting documents must be received by University Admissions before the deadline.
